2 c. flour
3/4 c. sugar
1 Tbsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. chopped walnuts
2 well beaten eggs
1 1/2 c. mashed ripe bananas
1/4 c. buttermilk ( or add 1/2 tsp. lemon juice to regular milk)
1/4 c. oil
1 tsp. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Blend first 5 ingredients. Mix in chopped nuts. Combine remaining ingredients and blend thoroughly by hand. Add all at once to dry mixture, stirring only enough to moisten dry mixture. Turn into greased 9 1/2" x 5 1/4" x 2 3/4" loaf pan. Bake at 350 degrees about 1 hr. until toothpick comes out clean. (Use 325 degree oven for a glass loaf pan). Cool bread in pan 10 minutes. Remove from pan and cool on rack. May be iced.
