2 sticks soft butter or margarine
2 c. sugar
4 eggs (one at a time)
1 pt. sour cream (16 oz.)
2 tsp. vanilla
3 3/4 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 large bottle of maraschino cherries (cut in quarters)

Directions:
Cream together first five ingredients in order given. One ingredient at a time - butter, sugar, eggs, sour cream and vanilla. Sift together flour, powder, soda and salt. Add to creamed mixture. Alternate cherries and nuts in next addition. Mix until well blended. Pour into 10" tube pan (greased and floured).

Bake at 375º for 15 minutes. Lower oven to 350º for 50-60 minutes. Check after 50 minutes - it may be done. When cake tester comes out clean, remove from oven. Let cool 20 minutes before removing from pan. Frost cake when cooled with your favorite frosting.
