Ingredients:
Ingredients:
2 c self rising flour
1/4 c canola oil
1 c buttermilk

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 450º. Grease a baking sheet.
With a fork, combine flour and oil. Stir in buttermilk until just combined. On a lightly floured surface, gently knead dough a couple of times and pat it out into 1/2 inch thickness. Using a biscuit cutter, cut out biscuits and place on sheet with a small space between biscuits. Take dough scraps, combine, pat out again and cut more biscuits. Repeat until all dough is used. Bake for 15 to 18 minutes or until tops are browned.

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
This was Dad's recipe. After watching some chef on Food TV take his finger and make a divot into the center of each biscuit (supposedly this made the sides rise up higher for a lighter biscuit) Dad began to do his biscuits the same. We do not know if this worked but we always had a good laugh over poking the biscuits before he baked them!
