1 1/2 cups yellow cornmeal
1/2 cup all purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon black pepper
1/8 teaspoon red pepper
3/4 cup milk
1/2 cup finely chopped onion (or 1/4 cup onion, 1/4 cup green onion)
1 egg beaten
1/4 cup chopped parsley

Directions:
Directions:
In a medium bowl combine all ingredients and mix well. Heat 2 inches of canola or vegetable oil to 375º. Drop by teaspoonful into the hot oil, being careful as you drop them not to splash the hot oil.

Let cook until golden brown, rolling over to brown both sides. Drain on a plate of paper towels.

Goes well with fried shrimp, fish or chicken.
