2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. soda
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
2 T. shortening
3/4 c. sour milk (for one cup of sour milk: add 1 tablespoon vinegar or lemon juice mixed with enough milk to make 1 cup: Let stand 5 minutes to thicken)

Sift dry ingredients and mix well. Rub in shortening. Add sour milk. Add more if needed.
Drop in muffin tins or cookie sheet.
