1 1/2 c. sifted flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
2/3 c. sugar
1 egg
3/4 c. milk
1/4 c. melted butter
6-8 med. plums

Crumb Topping:
1/4 c. butter
1/2 c. flour
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 tsp. cinnamon

Directions:
Directions:
Cut plums in half and remove seeds. Combine crumb topping ingredients and set aside. Mix remaining ingredients together. Pour batter into 8 inch square pan. Place plums cut side down on top of batter and poke in. Sprinkle with crumb topping. Bake for 30-40 minutes in a 375º oven. Cool.

This recipe came from my great grandma Lizzie Schmidt. She got the recipe off an Italian Plum box in 1936. My cousins go blue and purple ribbons in 4H with this recipe at the Kansas State Fair.
