1 c. shortening or 1/2 c. margarine and 1/2 c. butter
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
2 teas. vanilla
1 teas. salt
2 teas. cream of tartar
1 teas. soda
3 c. flour

Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening and sugar, then add the rest of the ingredients gradually. Roll into balls, press with glass dipped in sugar. Bake at 375º for 8 to 10 minutes.
