1 orange
1/2 cup sugar
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup butter
2 eggs
3/4 cup buttermilk
1 teaspoon soda
1 teaspoon vanilla
3/4 teaspoon salt
2 1/2 cups flour
1 cup raisins

Directions:
Directions:
Squeeze 1 orange and mix juice with 1/2 cup sugar. Set aside for topping.

Cream together sugar, butter & eggs. Add buttermilk, soda, vanilla, salt. Add in flour. Add raisins & orange peel.

Bake 45 minutes at 300 to 350 degrees.

Pour orange juice and sugar mix over cake as soon as it is removed from the oven.
