Ingredients: 2 c. white sugar 1/2 c. milk 1/2 c.(1 stick) butter 1 tsp. vanilla 4 tsp. cocoa powder 2/3 c. peanut butter 3 c. quick oats wax paper or parchment paper
|

Directions: |
Directions:Prepare all of your ingredients first. Place the sugar, milk, and butter in a medium saucepan on medium heat. Stir continuously to keep the mixture from scorching on the bottom of the pan. Continue to heat until it starts to boil. Let it go at a rolling boil for 1 minute, then remove the pan from the heat. Immediately add all of the remaining ingredients. Stir until all of the peanut butter and cocoa has been melted and is well mixed. Use a spoon to drop the cookies onto either wax paper or parchment paper (you can drop them onto a cookie sheet if you don't have the paper). Allow the cookies to cool until they can be peeled off of the wax paper without bending or tearing.
*Notes (1) Do not use regular whole oats for this recipe. Only the quick oats will work correctly and turn out good cookies. (2) You can use either creamy or crunchy peanut butter. Most people (I think) prefer creamy, but I actually prefer crunchy. Use just a little bit of extra peanut butter if going with the extra crunchy kind. |

Notes: These were my dad's favorite cookies. I started making them in high school, and they became my specialty.
