Ingredients:
Ingredients:
2 1/2 c. white flour
1 Tbsp. sugar
2 Tbsp. vegetable oil
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. warm water
1 packet (or 1 Tbsp.) yeast

Directions:
Directions:
Stir the yeast into the warm (not hot!) water to activate the yeast. Mix the flour, sugar, and salt together in a large mixing bowl. Stir in the oil and water/yeast mixture. Use the dough hook if using an electric mixer, or knead the dough by hand. The dough should form into a ball, but should still be just a little bit sticky. Add a little bit more flour if the dough does not form into a ball. If dough is too stiff, add a little water. Stir/knead dough for about a minute. Place the mixing bowl aside to allow dough to rise for at least 30 minutes. (Placing the dough in a warm environment will cause the dough to rise faster.) Once dough has risen to desired level, place half of the dough onto a greased baking sheet or pizza stone (stone may be greased or ungreased depending on cook's preference). Dust the dough with a little flour, and use floured hands to press the dough out to the edges of the pan. You are now ready to add your pizza sauce and toppings (but no cheese yet). Bake the pizza with toppings for approximately 15 minutes at 425º. Take the pizza out and gently lift up on the edge of the crust to ensure that the crust is baked on the bottom. Add cheese, and return to oven for 3 minutes or until cheese is melted.

Personal Notes:
While I was growing up, my family would make pizza every Friday night. It was the one night each week that the little kids would get to have a can of pop, and in addition to the homemade pizza, the little ones would get to use the free personal pan pizza coupons that we got from school for our Accelerated Reader points. The tradition was affectionately known in our family as O.P. (Obligatory Pizza).
