DRESSING
1 egg
1 egg yolk
1/2 cup sugar
1 1/2 t. cornstarch
1 t. dry mustard
1/4 cup wine vinegar
1/4 cup water
1/2 cup mayonnaise
3 T. butter

SALAD
4 cups broccoli, cut into small pieces
2 cups sliced mushrooms
1 small purple onion, thinly sliced
1 large can mandarin oranges, drained
6 slices bacon, cut into bits and cooked until crisp
1/2 cup raisins
1/2 cup chopped nuts or sunflower seeds or a combination of both

DRESSING
1. Combine eggs, sugar, cornstarch, and mustard in non-aluminum saucepan.
2. Gradually add vinegar and water.
3. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until thickened.
4. Remove from heat; stir in mayonnaise and butter. Chill.

SALAD
Combine all salad ingredients and toss with chilled dressing to coat.
