1 cup sugar
2 t. ginger
1 t. nutmeg
1 t. cinnamon
1/2 t. salt
1 1/2 t. baking soda
1 cup melted butter
1/2 cup evaporated milk
1 up unsulfered molasses
1 t. vanilla
1 t. lemon extract
4 cup plain flour

Directions:

1. Combine sugar, spices, salt, and soda.
2. Add melted butter, milk, extracts, and molasses.
3. Add flour 1 cup at a time, stirring constantly. Dough should be stiff enough to handle without sticking to fingers (add flour if necessary.)
4. Roll into balls about 1 inch in diameter and press down to 1/4 inch thick.
5. Pat bottom in flour and place on baking sheet.
6. Bake at 375º for 10-12 minutes.
7. Cool a few minutes before removing from pan.
