2 c. W R self rising flour
1 c. buttermilk
1/4 c. vegetable oil
butter (to taste)
bacon grease (to taste)

Directions:
Directions:
Sift flour then fold all ingredients (except butter and bacon grease) together to make the dough. Scoop about ⅛ of dough and drop the ball of dough on flour and roll off any excess flour. Put in lightly greased iron skillet and add butter and bacon grease to top of biscuit dough. Bake on 400º for 22 minutes.

Note - do not stir the dough - fold ingredients together

I always said my mamaw's biscuits were the best. I just couldn't make them taste like hers. I finally watched her make these biscuits one morning and then I realized why I liked her biscuits better than mine...She added bacon grease on top of her biscuits! She forgot to mention the bacon grease when she first told me the recipe! Hers will always be the best though! Precious memories :)
