Directions:
To begin this cake you need a starter from a friend (or start your own by mixing 1/2 cup each of flour, sugar, and milk. Add 1/2 tsp. yeast. Let set till bubbly. I bake with this without doing the next steps)
On days 1-4 stir well; cover loosely. Let set out on counter. On day 5, add 1 cup each of sugar, flour, and milk. On days 6-9 stir well. On day 10, add 1 cup each of sugar, flour, and milk. Take out 1 cup for each of three friends with these instructions.
To the remaining mixture, add the first eight ingredients. Beat cake mixture until smooth. Put 1/2 of batter into greased 9x13 pan. Cover with 1/2 of straddle mixture and 2 cups chopped apples. Add remaining batter and top with remaining struddle. Bake at 350° for 40-45 minutes.
