1 C Crisco
2 C all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp salt
1 C buttermilk
1 oz red cake color
1 1/2 C sugar
2 eggs
1 heaping TBS cocoa
1 tsp soda
1 TBS vinegar
Directions:
Directions:
Cream sugar and crisco, add coloring. Mix well. Add eggs one at a time. Beat well. Sift together 3 times flour, cocoa, salt and soda then add alternately with milk. Fold in vinegar. Bake in 3 layers for 30-35 minutes at 350º.
