6 slices thick cut smoked bacon (cut into 1/2 inch pieces)
4 cloves garlic finely chopped
1 red bell pepper chopped
1 yellow bell pepper chopped
3 tbsp. chili powder
1 tbsp. ground cumin
1 tbsp. chipotle chili powder
2 tsp. dried oregano
1 tbsp. smoke paprika
1 lb. lean ground beef
1 lb. ground pork
1 c. beer (Budweiser)
1 15 oz. can black beans (drained & rinsed)
1 can red kidney beans (drained & rinsed)
1 24 oz. can crushed tomato with juice
salt & pepper

Directions:

In a large sauce pan cook the bacon over medium heat until lightly crisp.

Add garlic, onion, bell peppers, chili powder, cumin, chipotle chili powder, oregano and smoked paprika. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Cook until vegetables are tender.

Add beef and ground pork. Cook until no longer red.

Add beans, beer and diced tomatoes. Simmer for 1 1/2 hours.

Serve.
