1 3/4 c flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 c sugar
1/2 c brown sugar
1 tsp salt
1/2 cup shortening (butter or 1/2: 1/2 crisco butter)
1/2 c peanut butter
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla
2 Tbsp milk

granulated sugar for rolling balls in.

375º 7minutes + 2 minutes

Cream butter and sugars.
Whisk together flour soda, powder, salt
Add to creamed butter the egg, vanilla, milk and peanut butter.
Mix in the dry ingredients
Form small balls (1 Tbsp?), roll in sugar and place on parchment lined baking sheets.
Bake until set, about 7 minutes.
Pull out of oven and top with Hershey Kiss. Put back in oven for two minutes or until kiss softens slightly into cookie. Tip will be crisp.

One of Mom's recipes. I use smaller balls of dough per cookie. The kids seems to like it that way better. A bit more peanut butter, too. At Christmas I roll the cookies in colored sugar instead of granulated sugar
