2 c. sugar
1 3/4 c. flour
3/4 c. cocoa
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
2 eggs
1 c. milk
1/2 c. oil
2 tsp. vanilla
1 c. boiling water

FROSTING
6 Tbsp. butter, softened
2/3 c. cocoa
2 2/3 c. powdered sugar
1/3 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Combine sugar, flour, cocoa, baking soda, baking powder, salt. Add eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla. Mix for 2 minutes. Add boiling water and stir, batter will be thin. Pour into greased and floured 9x13 pan. Bake at 350º for 35-40 minutes until toothpick comes out clean.


Frosting: Cream butter. Add cocoa and powdered sugar and alternate with milk. Beat to spreading consistency and blend in vanilla.

This was the recipe Suzanne Roosevelt gave us for our wedding. It is the only chocolate cake I make anymore. She said it was the best chocolate cake recipe she had found. It was on the Hershey's Cocoa can.
