4 c rolled oats (I often used other rolled grains as part of the 4 c)
1/2 c wheat germ
1/4 c oat bran
1/2 c chopped nuts and or seeds of choice
1/2 c dried fruit of choice (raisins, dates, cherries etc)
1 t vanilla extract
1/2 t cinnamon
3/4 c apple or apple-berry juice

Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
Combine grains, nuts and dried fruit. Add vanilla and cinnamon to the juice and stir into oat mixture until evenly moistened. Spread into a large shallow baking pan. Bake, stirring occasionally for about 20 minutes or until dry and lightly browned. Remember to check frequently towards the end to avoid over browning Makes 5 c of cereal

This recipe was published in the catalog of an organic food catalog in the 90s. They attributed it to The Good Breakfast Book by Nikki and David Goldbeck page 29.

I improvised with this a lot; used all kinds of grains, added more nuts or seeds to the mix because I liked nuts in it. I found it better to add dried fruit at the end b/c it would burn, might try soaking it in the juice before adding.
