1 C large dry lima beans
4 1/2 C water
1/4 C flour
1/2 C cold water
1 (8 oz) can tomatoes, cut up
1 C sliced celery
1 C sliced carrot
1/2 C chopped onion
1 bay leaf
2 tsp salt
1/2 C bread crumbs
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 C milk
1/4 tsp Worcestershire sauce
1 lb ground beef

Directions:
Directions:
Rinse beans and place in Dutch oven. Add the 4 1/2 cups of water and boil 2 minutes and turn off heat. Let stand 1 hour (or soak overnight without cooking) Do not drain. Combine flour and the cold water, stir into beans. Cook until thick and bubbly. Add vegetables, bay leaf, and 2 tsp salt. Bring to boiling. Cover and bake in 375º oven for 1 1/2 hours, stirring occasionally.
Meanwhile, combine breadcrumbs and remaining salt, the milk and the Worcestershire sauce; mix into ground beef. Shape into small meatballs and add to stew. Cover and continue baking for 45 minutes. Remove bay leaf.
