7 oz dry pinto beans soaked overnight. then drained.
1/2 lb cubed ham
2 1/2 c water
1 1/2 tomatoe juice
2 1/2 chicken stock2 onions chopped
4 minced garlic
1 1/2 tbsp parsley
2 tbsp chopped green pepper
2 tbsp sugar
2 tsp chilli powder
1/2 tsp oregano
1 bay leaf
1/4 tsp cumin, rosemary, celery seed, thyme .
1/8 tsp basil, marjoram, curry, cloves
1/2 c dry sherry
chopped scallions

Directions:

Combine all ingredients except sherry and scallions. Simmer in pot , remove bay leaf and sherry an sprinkle scallions , serve.
