Personal Notes:
In the 80's and early 90s we used to buy a honey baked ham for Christmas dinner. In late 90's the grocery stores would give you a free ham or turkey if you purchased 100.00 worth of groceries in a single transaction in the weeks leading up to a holiday. One spring I ended up with a free ham in my fridge. I grabbed the cookbook that I had purchased from a door to door to salesperson (no internet recipe searches) and loved it. As the family continued to grow, and the cost of a honey baked ham was closing in on triple digits, I offered to bring this ham to Christmas dinner to supplement the honey baked ham. this ham was "juicer" and had just as much flavor as the Honey Baked. This ham has been served for every Christmas Dinner since then. FREEZING TIP: You can place slices of ham with pan gravy into sandwich sized zip locs and then defrost / microwave the serving for a mid-week meal or fresh ham sandwich that tastes like you made the ham that day.
