Ingredients:

3 eggs
1 1/4 cup sugar
2 tbsp cocoa
1 1/2 cups milk or 1 cup milk and 1/2 cup evaporated milk
1 tsp vanilla or ask Nanny B

Meringue
3 egg whites
1/2 tsp vanilla
3/4 cup super fine sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Mix dry ingredients, egg yolks (save egg whites for meringue), and milk
Cook on stove until thick - need to stir to keep it from sticking
Then add butter and vanilla
Place chocolate mixture in cooked pie shell
meringue - mix egg whites until fluffy and add vanilla
Place chocolate mixture in cooked pie shell

Meringue
Place egg whites, sugar and vanilla in large bowl
Beat until fluffy
Place meringue on top of pie and lightly brown in oven

Now this chocolate pie may not turn out exactly like Nanny B since she never used a recipe. We tried to watch and remember what she did but she always made it a little different every time. My favorite memory was getting to lick the spoon and pan when the chocolate was hot off of the stove. Jean and I would have it all over our faces !! This was one of the grandkids favorite
