1 1/2 cups milk
1/2 cup sugar
2 tsps cornstarch
1 Tbsp butter
1/8 tsp salt
2 tsps gelatin
2 Tbsp cold water
3 eggs; separated
3/4 tsps vanilla
Whipped cream
Nutmeg
Baked pie shell

Directions:
Directions:
Scald milk in double boiler. Soak gelatin in the cold water. Mix together the sugar, cornstarch, salt and egg yolks. Pour milk into this mixture; return to double boiler and cook until thick.
Remove from heat. Add gelatin, butter and vanilla, and add a few shakes of nutmeg. Blend this and then cool it.
When mixture is cool, add beaten egg whites and pour into baked pie shell. Sprinkle lightly with nutmeg and let set in refrigerator for several hours. Serve with whipped cream.
