1 c. Quick Cooking Oatmeal
1 c. Boiling Water
1/2 stick of Butter
2 c. Brown Sugar
2 Eggs
1 tsp. Cinnamon
1 tsp. Cloves
1 tsp. Baking Soda
1 c. Raisins
1 c. Chopped Walnuts
1/2 Chopped __ (if desired)
Confectioners Sugar

Directions:
Directions:
1 cup quick cooking oatmeal stir in 1 cup boiling water, let stand for 20 minutes. Cream 1/2 stick butter, softened 2 cups firmly packed brown sugar. Beat in 2 eggs 1 at a time. Blend in 1 cup flour 1 tsp. each cinnamon, cloves, baking soda. Beat in oatmeal mix, fold in 1 c. raisins and chopped walnuts, and 1/2 cup chopped ___ (if desired). Pour batter into a buttered 9 inch square cake tin. Bake at 350º for 45 to 50 minutes. Cool, dust top with sifted confectioners sugar.
