2 c sifted all-purpose flour
2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
1/4 c sugar
1/3 c crisco shortening
1 egg
2/3 c milk

Directions:
Directions:
Mix flour, baking power, salt and sugar together. Cut in Crisco until it resembles small peas. Add beaten egg and milk. Stir till dough holds together and is all moistened. Pat into round cake pan or knead and roll out, cut out individual cakes. Bake 15-20 min at 425 degrees till top is golden.

remove from oven, spread top with butter, cover with towel and let coll.

Split, fill with sliced fruit or berries and whipped cream. Serve immediately.
