1 loaf French bread (ends removed, cut crosswise in one inch thick slices)
1 ˝ cups milk
4 large eggs
˝ cup orange juice
˝ cup granulated sugar
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
For garnish: confectioners’ sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Arrange bread slices in a single layer in a 13 X 9 inch pan.
Beat remaining ingredients except garnish until well blended and sugar is dissolved.
Pour over bread.
Cover and refrigerate at least one hour or up to 24 hours.
Heat oven to 425°and lightly grease a jelly roll pan.
Transfer bread to prepared pan making sure slices to not touch.
Bake 12 to 15 minutes until puffed and lightly browned.
Dust with confectioners’ sugar.

This is a cross between French toast and bread pudding.
