1 box strawberry cake mix
1 1/3 cups water
1/3 cup oil
3 large eggs
1/4 cup Smucker's prepared strawberry syrup
1 tsp. strawberry extract
9 oz. strawberry jam
White Chocolate Frosting (recipe follows)
Garnish: white chocolate curls, fresh strawberries (optional)

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray two 9 inch round cake pans with nonstick baking spray and set aside.

In a large bowl, combine cake mix, water, oil, eggs, syrup, and extract. Beat at low speed with an electric mixer for 1 minute. Increase mixer speed to high, and continue beating for 2 minutes. Pour batter into prepared pan. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in center come out clean. Let cool in pans on wire racks for 15 minutes. Remove from pans, and cool completely before frosting.

Spread jam evenly over first cake layer. Spread white chocolate frosting evenly over jam. Top with other cake layer. Spread white chocolate frosting evenly over top and sides of cake. Garnish with chocolate curls and fresh strawberries if desired.

White Chocolate Frosting:
1 container whipped white icing
1 oz. white chocolate baking bars, melted
1 tsp vanilla extract

In a large bowl combine icing with melted chocolate and vanilla. Beat with an electric mixer at medium speed until smooth.
