24 chocolate sandwich cookies, crushed
1/4 c. butter or oleo, melted
3 bananas
1/2 gallon mint chip ice cream or peppermint, softened
1/2 c. toasted chopped walnuts, optional
1/2 c. butter or oleo
1 (6 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips
1 1/2 c. evaporated milk
2 c. powdered sugar
1 tsp. vanilla

Combine cookie crumbs and 1/4 c. butter in bowl; mix well. Press mixture in 9x13 -inch pan. Slice bananas. Sprinkle with walnuts. Freeze until firm. Combine 1/2 c. butter, chocolate chips, evaporated milk, and powdered sugar in saucepan and mix well. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture just starts to boil. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla. Cool well. Pour chocolate mixture evenly over all. Cover with foil and store in freezer. Remove from freezer 10 minutes before cutting, then chop into squares.
