Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º. Sift flour and measure. Place rolled oats, flour sugar, salt and cinnamon in the bowl and mix to blend. Add soft butter or margarine and blend well with pastry blender, fork or 2 knives. Arrange apples in buttered 8x8 or 2 qt. baking dish. Spread oatmeal mixture on top of apples and press down lightly. Bake about 30 minutes or until topping is brown and apples are tender when tested with a fork. Serve warm or cold with milk, cream or ice cream.

In place of fresh apples, use 4 cups peeled sliced fresh peaches, or cut rhubarb.

Personal Notes:
This recipe is from the Tricks for Treats 4-H book. I took this to the Edwards County Fair and received a Best of Show in my class. Of course mom made me take the cooking class in the first place. :)
