1 c. self-rising corn meal
3/4 c. milk
1 egg
1/2 stick margarine

Directions:
Directions:
Mix first three ingredients. Put margarine in pan or skillet. Heat until hot. Pour half of margarine in corn bread mixture. Then pour mixture in hot skillet. Let cook until good and brown at 450º.

Granny would use Martha White (white) self-rising cornmeal. (White Lily cornmeal was not available until later.)
