1 can beefy mushroom soup - reserve 1/4 cup for gravy
1 & 1/2 lbs. ground beef
1/2 cup fine dry bread crumbs
1 egg, slightly beaten
1/4 cup chopped onion
1/8 tsp. pepper

Gravy:
1/4 cup water
1/4 cup of the soup

Directions:
Directions:
Mix thoroughly 1/4 cup of the soup, ground beef, bread crumbs, egg, onion, and pepper. Shape firmly into 6 patties. In skillet, brown patties on both sides in a little oil to keep from sticking. Drain any fat. Stir water into remaining soup and pour over patties. Cover; cook over medium low heat 15 to 20 min. or until done. Stir occasionally.
