Ingredients:
Ingredients:
Approximately 12 cups of popped popcorn seasoned with butter and salt.

In a heavy duty saucepan, combine:
1 cup white sugar
½ cup cold water
4 or 5 drops of red food coloring

Directions:
Directions:
Bring the mixture to a boil and stir until a soft ball stage is reached (235 – 245 degrees on a candy thermometer). This stage can also be determined by dropping a spoonful of the hot syrup into a bowl of very cold water. In the water, use your finger to gather the cooled syrup into a ball. If it has reached the soft-ball stage, the syrup easily forms a ball while in the cold water, but flattens once removed from the water.

Once your syrup is ready, pour over the prepared popcorn, stirring well to ensure an even coating on the popcorn. Spread out on a cookie sheet and let dry. If you have any left overs, it can be stored in an air tight container. Enjoy!
