1/2 c. shortening
3/4 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 c. crushed pineapple (save juice for frosting)
2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. soda

Frosting:
6 T. softened butter
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 c. powdered sugar
3 T. hot pineapple juice
Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening and sugar, add eggs and remaining ingredients. Drop by tsp. on cookie sheet. Bake approximately 10 minutes @ 375º.

Frosting:
Cream butter and vanilla. Gradually add powdered sugar alternately juice.

Sprinkle with chopped walnuts if desired.
