1 1/3 c flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 c butter (1 stick softened)
1/3 c creamy peanut butter
1/2 c sugar
1/2 c brown sugar tightly packed
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla
Additional sugar for rolling
2.5 dozen kisses

PREHEAT oven to 375°F. Grease 2 large baking sheets.

COMBINE flour, salt baking soda. Add butter and peanut butter - mix until smooth. Add sugars and beat until light and fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla and mix until smooth.

Form balls from level tablespoons of dough (if too sticky add a little more flour). Roll in sugar.

Bake 2" apart on ungreased cookie sheet for 8 minutes. Remove from oven and place one kiss in center while still hot. Return to oven and bake for 2 minutes more.

Let the cookies sit on baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to rack to cool.
