1 lb. sweet butter
1 c. icing sugar
1/2 c. teaspoon ginger, or 1 tsp. crushed cardamom seeds
1/4 tsp. salt
4 c. all-purpose flour

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter, gradually add icing sugar until mixture is very creamy. Add ginger or cardamom seeds and salt. Sift flour over mixture slowly. Dough should be soft and creamy but not runny. Chill covered for one hour. Roll to 1/4 inch thinkness, cut into your favourite shapes and bake on ungreased cookie sheet in 350ºF. oven about 20 minutes or until golden but not brown.
