One (14 oz.) can pineapple tidbits
1 lb. sausage links
1 medium onion (sliced optional)
1 c. sliced green pepper (optional)
1 c. beef broth or beef bouillon
3 Tbs. cornstarch
a pinch of pepper
1/3 c.sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. dry mustard
1/4 c. vinegar
3 c. cooked rice

Drain pineapple, reserving 3/4 cup of the syrup. Brown sausage, remove from drippings and keep warm. Cook onions and green pepper in 2 tablespoons of the drippings until soft, but not browned. Stir in beef broth. Make a smooth paste of t cornstarch and part of the pineapple syrup. Add to beef both with remaining pineapple syrup, salt, pepper dry mustard and sugar. Cook until thickened and clear, stirring frequently. Add vinegar and sausage, simmer five minutes. Serve over hot fluffy rice. You can add the meat mixture and serve in this manner also.
