1 cup Crisco white shortening
1cup white Crisco shortening
1 cup golden brown sugar
1 cup granulated sugar
2 beaten eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
11/2 cup flour
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. soda
3 cups oatmeal
1/cup walnuts (optional)
(My kids and I like them without nuts)

Directions:
Directions:
Blend shortening and sugar, add beaten eggs.
Add flour which has been sifted with
salt and soda. Add oatmeal (and nuts).
Refrigerate, roll in wax paper until chilled.
Slice and bake at 350º for 12 minutes.
