2/3 cup sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
3 tbsp. corn starch
1 tbsp. flour
2 cups milk
3 egg yolks
1 tbsp. butter
1-1/2 tsp. vanilla
3/4 cup coconut

Meringue:
3 egg whites
1/4 tsp. Cream of Tartar
6 tbsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Mix sugar, salt, corn starch and flour. Stir in milk and eggs gradually. Cook in double broiler, stirring constantly, until mixture thickens. Then add butter, vanilla and coconut. Pour into baked pie shell. Cover with meringue, put coconut on top, and bake in a 400º oven 8 to 10 minutes, or until browned.
