Personal Notes:
This is cucumbers exactly how Grandma Dummer made them. I try and try to make these and they just never taste exactly like they do when she makes them which is amazing. I have three favorite memories of this recipe. The first is when Jaci had her friend Maggie over for dinner when mom was here making them and she fell deeply in love with them. She tried to explain them to her family but they just didn't get it. Maggie will come over for dinner whenever these are served. The next one is when Mom brought them to our annual Duesterhoeft camping weekend at Belle Lake. Our friend Atif thought they were the best and Maggie also made an appearance. The last one is when Mom and I visited Jenna when she was living in Murfreesboro, TN. The Saturday morning of our visit we participated in the General Mills Doughboy Challenge and then went to the local farmers market and got fresh cucumbers, potatoes, green beans etc. We cooked lunch in her apartment together and bonded and it tasted wonderful.
