1 ham bone,
2 Tbsp beef broth
pinch salt
1 tsp pepper
2 bay leaf
6 beets thinly sliced/shredded
4 carrots thinly sliced/shredded
2 stalks celery, chopped
2 medium potatoes, chopped finely
1 medium onion, chopped
1 cup cabbage shredded,
2 Tbsp butter
1 Tbsp sugar
2 cup tomato juice, or cans of tomato soup or 4 frozen tomatoes
1 can brown beans
water to taste
flour
Sour cream and/or cream

Directions:
Directions:
Cook onion in until wilted. Add broth, water and vegetables(cabbage can be pre-cooked.) Simmer vegetables until tender. Blend 1 Tbsp flour into sour cream. Spoon some soup liquid into it. Stir into soup and bring to a boil. Season to taste with salt pepper and dill. Add cream just before serving.
