4 cups flour
2 cups dahl flour (grounded yellow peas)
1 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons baking powder
1 teaspoon saffron
4 cups oil (for deep frying)
1 teaspoon brown sugar, optional (if you like it sweet)

Directions:
Directions:
In a large mixing bowl, mix the flour, salt, baking powder, sugar and saffron.
Knead and let sit for 5 to 10 minutes.
Make small dough balls.
Flatten about 4 to 5" and deep fry until cooked for about 2 to 3 minutes.
Place one finished bara on a plate, add chick peas mix and place another bara over it and serve.
Add pepper to taste.

Use chickpeas recipe as the insert for the bara.
(You don't have to use the sugar if it's already too sweet) we always had it sweet.
