1 9" baked pie crust
1 c. dark brown sugar
1 stick butter or margarine
1/3 c. cornstarch
2 t. vanilla
1/2 t. salt
2 1/4 c. Milnot evaporated milk
3 egg yolks (reserve whites)

Directions:
Directions:
Combine all ingredients in a saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until mixture thickens and boils. Pour into baked pie shell.

Beat egg whites until soft peaks start to form. Add 3 T. sugar and continue beating until peaks become stiff. Pour on pie. Bake in 350º oven until meringue is browned.
