4 Large Sweet Potatoes (peeled)
1 Stick Butter (salted/unsalted)
2 c. white sugar
1/4 c. heavy whipping cream
2 1/2 - 3 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
a couple of dashs of clove
1 1/2 tsp. 1 tbsp. real maple syrup
1/2 tbsp. real vanilla extract
salt to taste (I use 1/2 to 1 tsp to mellow sweetness)

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º.
Wash & dry sweet potatos, cut off tips and peel.
Slice sweet potatos into 1/2 in. thick circles.
Place sliced potatos into a 12 x 9 or larger dish and set aside.
In a medium pot, melt butter over medium heat.
Add sugar and stir until well blended.
Add cream and stir until creamy.
Stir in cinnamon, nutmeg, clove, maple syrup, salt and vanilla extract.
Taste to make sure it's mouth wateringly good and adjust spices as needed.
Pour mixture over sweet potatoes
Cover with foil and bake at 350º for 45 minutes (longer if cooking more and/or potatoes are layered).
Remove foil and bake an additional 20-25 minutes.
Serve

This is great around the holidays or any time of year. My family always finishes ever bit. Great with ham, chicken or turkey. The sauce is great for dipping. It was adapted from Divas Can Cook. (divascancook.com).
