3 cans (15 oz.) black eyed peas
2 cans (14 oz.) chicken broth or homemade
1 package (16 oz.) frozen chopped turnip greens
1 lb. cooked ham, chopped
3 c. peeled, chopped red potato
1 1/2 c. chopped onion
1 c. chopped celery
1 1/2 T. sugar
1 t. garlic salt
1 t. pepper

Directions:

Combine all ingredients in a large Dutch oven; bring to a boil.
Reduce heat, and simmer, uncovered, 1 hour

Serve with Mary Dicken's Cornbread.
