3/4 c. Jiff creamy peanut butter
1/2 c. (1/2 stick) Criso (or Butter Flavor Crisco) All-Vegetable Shortening
1-1/4 c. firmly packed light brown sugar
3 T. milk
1 T. vanilla
1 egg
1-3/4 c. all-purpose flour
3/4 tsp. salt
3/4 tsp. baking soda

Directions:
Heat oven to 375 degrees. Combine Jiff, Crisco, light brown sugar, milk and vanilla in large bowl. Beat at medium speed of electric mixer until well blended. Add egg. Beat just until blended. Combine flour, salt and baking soda. Add to creamed mixture at low speed. Mix just until blended. Drop by heaping teaspoonfuls 2 in. apart onto ungreased baking sheet. Flatten slightly in criss cross patter with tines of fork. Bake 1 baking sheet at a time for 7 to 8 min., or until set and just beginning to brown. Cool 2 min. on baking sheet. Place sheets of foil on counter-top. Place cookies on foil to cool completely. Yield: about 3 dozen.
