1 6 - 8 quart pot full of apples, washed and cored
1-2 lbs. fresh or frozen cranberries
1/2 c. water
1+ T. Cinnamon
1 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. allspice
1 tsp. cardamom
6 c. sugar
1 c. brown sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Place apples and water in heavy bottom stew pot, covered, cook over medium heat until apples are soft. Add cranberries and cook until berries pop. Remove from heat. Run through a food-mill to remove skins.
Measure fruit, should have about 14-16 cups. Place fruit back in heavy bottom pot and add remaining ingredients. Simmer until liquid no longer separates on top of fruit, this could take a couple hours. Pour hot sauce in hot clean canning jars (size of choice), cover with canning lids and rims, process in hot water bath for 10 minutes. Use like apple butter.
