2 cups sugar
1/2 cup white corn syrup
1/2 cup water
1/4 tsp cream of tarter
1/8 cup butter - or 2 tbls
3 tbls vinegar
1 tsp vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Combine all ingredients except vanilla. Place over heat: stir until sugar dissolves. Cook without stirring to very hard ball stage 265º. Remove from heat and add the vanilla.

Pour on greased platter, when cool enough to handle pull until taffy is snow white and porous. Twist into ropes, cut with a sissors or cool and break. Wrap in wax paper separately.
