18 jumbo strawberries
1 cup heavy or whipping cream
1 pkg. vanilla flavor instant pudding and pie filling for 4 servings
1 cup milk
I tsp. almond extract

Directions:
Cut stem ends off strawberries.
With sharp knife, cut deep” X ‘in top of each fruit.
With fingertips, gently spread each strawberry apart to make petals; set aside.
In large bowl, with wire whisk, prepare instant pudding as label directs but use only 1 cup milk.
With wire whisk or rubber spatula, gently fold whipped cream and almond extract into prepared instant pudding.
Spoon almond cream mixture into decorating bag.
Pipe cream mixture into strawberries.
Cover and refrigerate strawberries if not serving right away.

ALTERNATIVE FRUIT: When figs are in season, you can fill them with almond flavored cream, in the same way as we have done strawberries. With sharp knife, cut stem ends off 12 medium sized figs, then cut deep X in top of each fruit.
With fingertips gently spread each fig apart to make petals.
Begin about 30 minutes before serving or early in the day.
