4 c. flour
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tbsp. cinnamon
1 tbsp. allspice
1 c. butter, at room temperature
2 c. sugar
2 eggs
2 c. applesauce
2 tbsp. vanilla
1 c. walnuts or pecans, chopped

Directions:
Directions:
In a large bowl, combine flour, cinnamon, allspice & baking soda: set aside. In a mixing bowl, cream butter & sugar. Beat in eggs, applesauce & vanilla. Stir into dry ingredients just until moistened. Fold in nuts. Fill greased or paper-lined muffin cups 3/4 full. Bake in 350 F oven for 20-25 minutes. Cool in pan 10 minutes: remove to a wire rack.
